Thanks to everyone who helped out at our 3rd annual Car Wash to benefit Hope Burkin and Ty Swoap. It was another amazing event that brought together a couple great families. One of those families was the family from the local firehouse who came together and volunteered their time to raise money for some great kids.

Unfortunately, after already canceling one date this year, rain came again and cut the car wash short. However we were still able to raise nearly $600.00 for Hope and Ty and their foundations. To learn more about Hope and Ty please click on our Profile Blog from the pull down link above. Special thanks also goes out to all of the people who came out to support this cause. We were even washing cars in the rain. Thats when you know you are supporting a cause and not just a car wash!

And as always thanks to Marco's Pizza for suppling the location, Mister Freeze for suppling the gift cards, and Extreme car care for the car wash supplies.

First Friday was a huge success and lots of fun too! We were told that there was over 2000 people in attendance for the first "First Friday" of the year. Technically it was the second but the first was rained out. Everyone loved watching Life Flight land and going through all of the Fire Trucks We met Carli, from Shutterlove Photography, shooting the pics that are proudly displayed in our slideshow on our home page. Please take a look and please do not hesitate to call them for all of your photographic needs!

Chili Cook Off
Published Sat, 16 May 2009 16:00:00 +0000

Recently, the Swoap and the Burkin family both came up to the fire station to be celebrity judges in our chili cook off. Each shift submitted a recipe and the winner was going to represent the Perrysburg Firefighters in the 1st annual Perrysburg Knights of Columbus chili cook off. Every one had a great time and the winning recipe went to A shift's own resident chef Jeff Stefanelli (in the middle holding the empty pot). Unfortunately, the K of C eventually cancelled their event. We all know they cancelled because they were scared and knew Jeff was going to win anyway.

Family wins day with firefighters
Published Fri, 10 Apr 2009 15:23:00 +0000

The Hildebrand family won a day with the firefighters at an auction for the YMCA. On Friday, April 10 they came in to spend some time with us. Owen, age 4, was having his birthday today and brought his sister, Kate, age 2, and cousin Aiden, age 3. They arrived at 10:00am and got a tour of the fire station. Then, along with moms and dads, Ben & Jen (Owen & Kate) and Mike & Sena (Aiden), went into the apparatus bay and was able to inspect the trucks. Owen, Kate and Aiden then went through Medic One, Tower One, Engine One and Squad One. After the truck inspections they went into the dayroom for cookies and milk. Once the snack was done they went behind the station to help the duty crew inspect the tower. That is when the tower was put into the air and the kids got to see it close up in action. The duty crew really enjoyed the visit and hope that they return anytime.
